The target audience for this book is anyone who has been misled into thinking the German people were/are not pleasant, industrious, disciplined, and civilized, and who lack any similarities to the American people; who thought they were actually like the stereotypes depicted in the anti-Nazi movies, books, and articles we’ve all been subjected to for nearly a century.
The author served in the United States Navy as an officer and pilot from 1955 to 1977 and as a result saw a lot of the world. Since retiring from the military, he traveled extensively as well. He found Germany to be a very pleasant and civilized place, and it became his favorite destination.
He felt he had been inundated with anti-German propaganda most of his life yet found out they were highly cultured and highly civilized, and after studying them objectively, felt the leaders of the 1930s and 1940s were not very different from other European leaders.
He felt deeply that even if the stories of the atrocities the Germans were blamed for were true, they were nowhere near the atrocities committed against them after World War II (WWII), violating the Geneva Conventions and the Just War principle.
This book solves the problem of the misconception about Germany leading up to the time of WWII, and any confusion created by the propaganda from Hollywood and the rest of the media in the Western world.
The author’s background in the U.S. military, his experiences traveling the world, and an extensive bibliography, which is to say, numerous books and articles cited within the text (almost all were from the author’s personal library), were used in the writing. The aforementioned resolves any question of the author’s background and information about the material used to write the book.
I personally feel this book met its goal in giving a clear distinctive analysis of the events from the beginning of the 20th century leading up till the end of WWII, which convinced me the Germans were not the villains they have been portrayed by the mainstream media narrative. This portrayal was accomplished by:
1) An explanation of Germany as an evil nation, which was a myth;
2) The aftermath of the war in Germany;
3) The Jewish factor in the war;
4) The Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 including the Red Terror spreading through Europe;
5) Creation of the nation of Israel;
6) How Jews flourished in Weimar Germany which caused Hitler and the National Socialists to rise to power;
7) Jews worldwide, the diaspora (declared war on Nazi Germany in 1933);
8) How Hitler began reclaiming German territory;
9) And examples of the Allied goal of destroying Germany forever, making Germany the real victim of WWII.
The thesis of the book is argued and supported as follows:
An example that Germany was evil is illustrated in the movie Schindler’s List with several examples. Yet, Germany was not always seen in this light. The English historian Frederick William Maitland described the way the English people saw Germans during the 19th century: “It was usual and plausible to paint the Germans as an impractical dreamy sentimental being looking out with mild blue eyes and a cloud of music and metaphysics and tobacco smoke.”
The American historian Henry Cord Meyer also gave a very similar portrayal of Germans by Americans prior to the 20th century, and I paraphrase: Germans were regarded as methodical and energetic people who were models of progress while in their devotion to music education science and technology aroused admiration & emulation of Americans. As we all know, German people have historically made great contributions in every sphere of cultural, intellectual, and scientific achievement. Such examples are: Bach, Hayden, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schumann.
There is a great deal of evidence to support the thesis of this book:
1) The details of the Treaty of Versailles and the effect of the treaty on the German economy.
2) The threat of the post- Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 against the Christians in Western Europe via the Red Terror carried out predominantly by Jews who invaded Russia from all over the world.
3) Statistics cited of the over-representation of Jews and Weimar Germany and the destruction of morality and the general economy of Germany as a result.
4) A clear timeline from the time of World War I when Hitler was a runner in the 16th Bavarian Reserve Infantry Regiment until he became chancellor in 1933.
5) The declaration of war by Judea 1933 and all the propaganda that followed which is cited carefully by the author in various chapters.
6) The timeline of the reclaiming of German territories given away through the Treaty of Versailles, & the declaration of war by Great Britain as a result.
7) The effort by Hitler to offer a peace treaty throughout WWII many times but rejected by the Americans and the British.
The aforementioned evidence is well presented and factual. Several well accredited sources are used throughout the book. This makes for a very convincing thesis.
The book offers an up-to-date bibliography that can be verified. The facts given are also valid.
This is an extremely comprehensive work; it follows a timeline from the end of the 19th century until the end of WWII and beyond.
The author was uniquely qualified because of his service in the military and his experience traveling the world and his extensive time in Germany.
Compared to other works in this field, I feel this book stands apart and is differentiated by the unique facts and timeline given that other books lack.
The authors intentions of writing this book were to set the record straight using facts that are well supported by a bibliography second to none.
The tone of this book is easy to read and it is written in a cogent and logical manner. It’s very easy to understand, and he follows the timeline of events citing well-known historians and other people of note with a very credible bibliography. The pure points of fact are communicated very clearly and are easy to understand.
This book gave me a very clear understanding of the events that led up to the war and all the events through the war including those after the war. I was very impressed!
The only weakness that this book exhibits is a result of a century of propaganda and refusal by American authorities to admit the truth. Despite these obstacles, the author has done a tremendous job of communicating the thesis.
Everything I found in this book agrees with what has followed in world politics and what I have observed in my lifetime. Therefore, I agree with it and I would recommend it to everyone, young and old.
Nice piece, but I disagree in parts.
Many Germans have a bad side which I call "Nazi". They are submissive and have a will to please. This turned out from the bad side since 2020 during the plandemic quite well. I see it as a sado-masochistic aspect of this tribe. They love to command others, but love also being commanded.
The better and more resilient people live in the east, they withstood their occupiers much better than the people in the western part.
